An excerpt from THE ANGLER AND THE OWL.

 France winced as he started examining the wound. A piece of twig, about three inches long and half an inch thick, was protruding out of her arm just below her shoulder. “Woman, you really know how to do it, don’t you?” Doc said, shaking his head. “Why?” she said through gritted teeth. “It was just a couple of trees. What could it possibly be then, more than a bad scratch?” John was shocked when he sees the twig sticking out of her shoulder. “That looks nasty,” he said. “Need some help?” “You might want to hold her so I can get this out. This is going to hurt,” Doc looked France in the eye. “Why? What is it?” France asked as she first looked at her shoulder. “What the hell!” “More than a bad scratch, France,” Doc said to her. Then he looked at John and said, “Don’t let her move. I’m not sure how far this is in, or how it went in.”
