I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The story revolves around Evelyn as she's trying to be there for her aunt and cousin as they try to show a strong front in the eyes of the family company when the CEO abruptly dies. Adam, the Hellhound lawyer of his pack is sent in to take measure of the successor, since his pack has a 30% share in the company. The pack is also trying to track down nefarious monetary dealings on of companies, but unbeknownst to them, the demon Queen that had possession of Adam's pack is working on a plan to bring them back into her grasp. As Adam discovers Evelyn as his Mate, more of the evil queen machinations begin to unfurl. Can Adam trust Evelyn to accept his true nature of is she a pawn for the demon Queen? Does Evelyn have the strength to endure to difficult road ahead of will she succumb to the demon Queen's ultimate goal? Check it out and see for yourself. I highly recommend this one!

What a gem of a book! These are some quite amusing little tales! How many times have you said "if only the dead could talk" or how many times have you walked through a cemetery and read the names and dates on the stones and wondered how they died? Oh, well maybe that's just me! I do it all the time. Well now, in this book (series actually) the dead do talk, and they trying tell you how they think they died. It is a very interesting concept for a story. I liked it!

I liked the whole feeling the stories had - It really does feel like the people are just sitting down and talking directly to you telling you their story. It feels very personal. Like I wanted to offer them coffee.

My favorite one was actually the shortest, and... Oh my gosh!
The Betrayal, about a dentist, kind of gave me the creeps! I hate the dentist anyway so this one hit home, but thank goodness I actually like my dentist and have a good one! Otherwise this story would be giving me nightmares.

This was an enjoyable story, although it did tackle some disturbing issues such as abuse and how women have to fight for their lives against controlling men.

I like stories about strong women and this book offers a few. Not all the men are troublesome, however, and it was good to have the mix of decency, too.

There was a good sense of place and the characters were believable. Not everything was resolved...we will have to wait for that.

Wow. This book is phenomenal. The writing is exquisite, and the storyline is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Little Livie is a shining star. I just adore her. It was suspenseful, shocking, and beautiful all at the same time. There are so many layers to Nicky’s writing. Highly recommended for a complex, thought-provoking read that goes so much deeper than a murder mystery.
