I chose The White Cat for Christmas because I was, already, a huge fan of the author Cherime MacFarlane. I was hooked from the start. Whereas I have little interest in romance as a genre, this foursome love story, a woman, a dog, a man, and a cat, is charming and expertly written.I curled up in a chair and completely visualised the entire story as I read. The author’s descriptions are excellent without being so obtrusive that they take over from the story telling. Not for an instant did I want to skip a sentence. I wish more books were written this way.
Then, there was the main reason I read Cherime MacFarlane’s books—they are set in Alaska; she allows me to see and feel it.
