SPACE JUNK: AN INTERGALACTIC ROMANTIC COMEDY PART 8

Sarah’s nerves were shot as they docked at the intergalactic police headquarters. She into had agreed not to talk to each other until the interviews were completed. Coop and Al were frustrated as they had been suspended with pay group knew he was innocent. He didn’t even know the dead guy and he had no reason to want Ensign Todd dead.
Sarah, on the other hand, was worried. She had motive. She had caught Todd with his hands in another woman’s pants police would see it is a good reason to off the guy. He did have an alibi for the night he discovered the scene. Afterwards, she was seen drinking in the bar with Coop for five hours. There is also proof that she’d left the docking port at alpha station with the Capt. and Dr. Stevens the next morning. Since no one knew exactly when Todd was murdered there was no proof she was around to do the deed.
“Relax Sarah.” The captain admonished. “This is just a formality.”
She looked at the captain “is it really gave. I’m the jilted woman and a woman scorned… And all that.
“You have an airtight alibi as you were on the Romulus for eight weeks after that weekend.” He explained.
“Yeah I know… So, I should just take a pill and let the cops do their thing right?”
Dave nodded and smiled “exactly!”
“Then why don’t I feel better?” she replied.
Detective Sturgis and Assistant detective Alex Kellerman conducted the interviews and called her into the room.
She was seated beside her counsel Lieut. Myers.
Detective Sturgis spoke up “State your name.”
“Lieut. Sarah French Sir science officer on the ship the Romulus of the United intergalactic marines sir.”
Detective Sturgis didn’t waste any time getting to the purpose of the meeting “did you know the victim Lieut.?”
“Yes sir.” She replied knowing what was coming next.
“What was the nature of your relationship with Ensign Weatherly?”
Sarah sighed “we had been romantically involved sir.”
“Was this so at the time of Weatherly’s death?” He continued
Kellerman just sat there taking notes.
Sara looked at her counsel is been answered “no Sir. We had stopped seeing each other. “
“For what reason?” he inquired matter-of-factly.
Sarah’s Counsel Marine Corp. rep spoke up “how is that relevant detective?”
“It goes to motive the tenant Myers?”
Sarah spoke up at this point “okay, I’ll answer. I have nothing to hide.” She said to both her counsel and the cops sitting across from her.
Detective Sturgis nodded “go on.”
“Ensign Weatherly and I had planned to meet at the space station for a romantic getaway weekend. I arrived at the lounge where we were supposed to meet dressed to the nines only to find my significant other with his hands all over a stripper with 48 double DDs and his tongue playing hockey with the strippers, tonsils.”
“Just the facts Lieut. French. There is no need to be sarcastic.”
Sarah mentally counted to 10 and continued “I poured water over his head and told him to go to hell then stalked off.”
“And that’s the last time you saw Ensign Weatherly?”
Sarah nodded “yes sir. As far as I was concerned we were done. I don’t condone cheating but it’s nothing to kill for.”
“No need to editorialize Lieut. we just want the facts.” Kellerman added.
Sturgis spoke up “so, where did you go next?” “I found another bar on the station and proceeded to get very drunk sir.”
“Is this where you met Cooper Bradley, the sanitary engineer?”
“Yes and his friend Al. We had some drinks and play darts for a while and then Al found other entertainments. Coop and I stayed there until 1 AM then continued our party in the room I rented for the weekend.” Sarah explained
“you have proof of this “
Sarah nodded. “Yes my counsel has documentation that I was drinking in the cosmic cave for the better part of five hours and checked into my room with Mr. Bradley and stayed there until it was time to return to my ship, the Romulus.”
“Fine. I’ll need that. You can go for now we will contact you if we need to ask you further questions.” Sturgis stated
Sarah nodded at the two detectives, Rose and shook her counsel’s hand then went to find her captain. She didn’t know if she needed a coffee or a very stiff drink. In her condition, she decided the coffee was in order.
